The Shooting for Liberty event will be held at the Eagle Gun Range in Lewisville (491 Valley Ridge Blvd., Lewisville), and will allow General Admission ticket holders access to the gun range, plus have an opportunity to either 1) shoot an exotic weapon (AK-47, M4 SBR, 44 Magnum, and others) or 2) receive hands-on instruction from a firearms expert, including shooting a standard handgun. TXFL will also have over a dozen different drawings and prizes, including a competition shoot, VIP celebrity competition shoot, a chance to win a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm, and many more.
Federal law states you must be 21 to purchase, sell, rent or loan a handgun or ammunition, but Texas law permits persons 18 and over to legally own and use a handgun. Therefore, persons 18-20 years old must furnish their own handgun and ammunition. Since all but two events involve the use of loaned or rented weapons, persons 18 to 20 years old will not be permitted to participate in any events other than the shooting of the Garand MI rifle, and the COMPETITION SHOOT - PISTOL OF CHOICE, which will allow the shooter to furnish their own weapon and ammunition.. All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver.
